What We Do

We can ensure that your organisation complies with the safety regulations. Electrical testing must be performed by a person who is competent in the safe use of the test equipment and knows how to interpret the test results obtained. This person must be capable of inspecting the equipment and, where necessary, dismantling it to check the cable connections.

The keeping of suitable records is essential. They provide evidence for the defence in the event of a prosecution; in addition, such records facilitate the close monitoring of all portable equipment, revealing potential faults or adverse trends. They are also essential in forming an accurate assessment of the necessary frequency of testing.

All equipment that has been tested and inspected must be clearly identifiable. This is achieved by labelling the equipment with a PAT sticker showing a unique identification code, the status of the equipment following the testing (Pass or Fail) and the re-test date. If the equipment has failed, this must be labelled Dangerous Do Not Use and the reason.

Our standard service includes all the following:
  • Visual inspection of each item of portable electrical equipment
  • Inspection of all leads and plugs, including repair or replacement of faulty items
  • Electrical testing of all items that are accessible
  • Labelling of each item inspected and tested
  • Recording all items and test results in an inventory
  • Printed report for your records
  • Inventory list for insurance providers
