Electrical Safety
To comply with the Regulations, all portable electrical appliances should be routinely inspected and tested by a competent person. The regulations apply equally to small companies and the self-employed, as well as larger organisations.

Contractors
Contractors doing specialist work on customers' premises must also ensure that their electrical equipment has been PAT Tested. Many organisations, including all local authorities, will refuse admittance to contractors without a PAT certificate.
